Intro

This is the beginning of the end. Not because I foresee anything horrific happening in the (near) future but as will all things, something cannot end if it never starts and the start only leads to the end. Stupid Starbucks philosophizing aside, I recently came to the online realization of two things.

Twitter is for those with Attention Deficit Disorder.

Facebook is for those with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Why do I bring this up? Well, I never quite thought of keeping a blog for a myriad of reasons. For starters, there are so many different ways to express yourself on the internet.

There's Twitter, where pseudo-intellects make snippy quips about the subjects that interest them. Where D-List celebrities can bask in their 5 figure follower list and espouse the liberal agenda hoping some politically active producer throws them a voice over that will hopefully provide them with decent enough residual checks to maintain their vices over the long term.

Then there is Facebook, or I like to call it, "I'm so much better than you, look where I ate last night". Facebook is a nice way to catch up with friends and relatives you've grown out of touch with, but it has become a modern day pager. What I mean by that is, when I first bought a beeper in the 90's, it go to the point where people were angry if I didn't return their page in a timely manner, as if I bought the pager for their convenience and not mine. That is what Facebook has become. You have to make sure to throw a few "likes" out there, and throw a few comments around, oh and make sure you don't leave friend requests sitting too long. It's madness.

So where does that leave someone who wants to speak their mind and only have it ready by those who actually WANT to see it? The best I could come up with is a Blog. So this is it. I don't know what my plans are for it yet, but I can say that I've had an itch to document some of my mind's ramblings for quite a while. Hopefully this will be therapeutic.

Every blog needs a title or a theme, by now you may be wondering just what 4,543 words to live by means. Well, depending how they are counted, there are 4.543 words in the Constitution of the United States of America. Many, including my Dad, would argue that the only words to live by are in the Bible. While that is true, one thing I've always enjoyed is the "Great Political Debate", or as you may know it, "The Friendship Killer". I've found myself talking more about politics now than perhaps at any other point in my life, therefore I thought a nice Blog Title would be a reference to The Constitution.
